your dad's got a showroom
he said he could take my pick
there's vintage and perfect
i try on one with my friends
magic of real, how does it feel?
the doors are so shiny
its got mirrors along the top
the wheels are in motion
and the roof? it just peels right off
and you're looking like the shape of things to come
looking like the shape of things to come
something'll come
something'll come
come
come a little bit closer
i dunno if this is right
this place is a nightmare
I've woken and nothings right
look at your body
blanking out all my thoughts, yeah
just look around you
its made up of old mirrors and chairs
and i don't know what i was thinking
he's patching a hole in the wall oh for fuck's sake
looking like the shape of things to come
looking like a shape of things to come
something'll come
something'll come
come
cos we'll be digging in like a barren inner space is what you've got, come on
cos we'll be digging in like a barren shape and faces blank out my thoughts
cos we'll be digging in like aye aye aye aye aye
cos we'll be digging in like a barren shape and faces blank out all my thoughts
cos we'll be digging in like oh!
sanctioned play pens burning down
we broke out and we're running away
from predetermined reality
libido death rattle
only one is real
the charm offensive's here
as we hold these supposed truths to be self-self-limiting
in a limitless acceleration towards the infinity
as we hold these supposed truths to be self-self-limiting
in a limitless acceleration towards the infinity
it's like being punished
for greed and hypnosis and the shit that i have got nothing to do with
my mind's projected labels peel and just fall off
tightness, aching, fatigue, breaking
relax, burning, solid, working
as we hold these supposed truths to be self-self-limiting
in a limitless acceleration towards the infinity
and you body and your shape and face blacking out all my thoughts
looking like the shape of things to come
Certainly a controversial direction for the band, but this album ultimately rests as my favorite from TTNG. The technical mastery of their previous albums is still present here along with some very thought provoking and philosophical lyrics. I may not always agree with the lyrical messaging, but this is an album which rewards careful listening. Syobnaf
